Fair Use- Brett

Two ways fair use can be used in my project will be; as I work to combine two or more portions of film pulled from the internet to create an original piece that elicits new ideas, as well as using fair use to "add value" to the previously produced works. I plan to add social value to critique popular tv culture.

Fair use is imperative for documentary makers as they seek to inform and stimulate the minds of viewers. Fair use gives film makers freedom to use media in a way that reinforces their message in meaningful ways.

I'm not sure if this would qualify as a MashUp but the creators have taken trademarks and copyrighted material to reinforce their message. I like these videos because they are highly relateable and use recognizable brands and messages to convey unique information.
