Musicians need to be inspired. As for Tim Quirk, he used the idea of a clown to inspire him for a song in his album. But his music quickly became tainted with a lawsuit by a man trying to make quick money. Larry Harmon who was the actor who played Bozo was quick to jump on Quirks back. He felt that he was stealing Harmon's idea and he wanted to be in on the cash. Alias Quirk's independent label had began working with Warner Records and they ended up agreeing on a settlement with Harmon. Harmon learned as America did as well, claim everything you can to make money. I am not agreeing with this by any means, every musician begins a song by starting with inspiration and you never know where this will be from but our world has become absurd in how quick they are to copyright.

I am fine with copyrighting for a business such as when they explain in the introduction that you cannot use coca cola on a different soft drink to sell it. But when Fox goes as far to file a lawsuit over a tee-shirt that is mocking their company, that is to far. We all have to take criticism in the work place including companies. Instead of filing a lawsuit maybe Fox should have used it as a learning experience to see how they were being mocked and then learn from it in the future!

After listening to the lawsuits targeted to illegal movie downloading I found it interesting that when we were filing for lawsuits against illegal music downloads they were only trying to "educate" the public on what is fair. It is unfortunate that now with lawsuits out for illegal movie downloading they are going for way more than what is needed, to only make money. This is becoming a business not a warning. This world is becoming ridiculous and we need to think that lawsuits are the last possible resort not a way to make an income!
