Wikipedia-KelsMot

Throughout high school my teachers always encouraged us not to ever use materials that came from Wikipedia.  It was always easiest to find sources from Wikipedia however, I was always warned that they were not credible due to the fact that people are able to continuously change the information.  Since I have no experience with this source, I will now explore!...

...The information all seems to be well detailed and plenty of information is provided.  If you continue reading the article to the bottom there are credible sources noted so more in depth research can be found.  However, the citations are not always right on with the present material.

I enojyed reading about the history of the different open source cites because they talk about the history.  Stacy Schiff states in her article "Know it All"  that the reason Wikipedia is in so deep now is because they had to begin spending more time removing the obceneties from the side instead of worrying about whether or not the information was correct.  People now abuse the site.  More people should be informed about the statistics of Wikipedia have four errors for every one error that Briticana has.

If that if Wikipedia were to consider conquering expertise, it would be a very long and grueling process.  Since there are so many different articles that are already being used and many more being added daily it would take so long to try to get all of it to be correct.

The Bilton piece was very interesting.  Everyone is different with how much they share and put online.  Since our generation has grown up with the internet I feel as though many people share a lot about what they are up to.  I am just as guilty as the next person with my pictures and letting people know what I am up to.  I love putting pictures of me and my friends up online but only my friends can see what I am up to.  Filters have been put on all of my information.  Giving up my time in order to send a quick message to friends that I cannot talk to on the phone on a daily basis is definitely worth it to me.
